Shawn is a scholar of the Hebrew Bible and the Ancient Near East, specializing in the historical context of the Biblical prophets and their connection to Assyria and Babylonia. He is Associate Professor in the Martin (Szusz) Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University, where he teaches the history and geography of Biblical Israel.
