Growing Pacific Wave of Indigenous Support for Israel
A report from Hon Alfred Ngaro concerning his recent engagement with Christian leaders in the Pacific
Islands of Covenant: A growing Pacific Wave of Indigenous Support for Israel
From Tonga to Fiji to Hawaii: A Journey of Faith, Culture, and Conviction
In a time of global uncertainty and shifting political alliances, a journey through the Pacific has revealed a powerful and inspiring truth: the heart of the Pacific still beats with deep faith, strong cultural identity, and unwavering support for Israel.
Tonga: A Royal Covenant
Our journey began in Tonga, a nation whose Christian roots are not only spoken of but are embedded in its very fabric. The Royal Crest of Tonga bears the Star of David, a visible and sacred symbol of the nation's historical and spiritual alignment with Israel.
In our meetings with both tribal elders and governmental leaders, it was profoundly moving to hear Tonga reaffirm its position as a Christian nation, standing proudly with Israel. The highlight was the strong affirmation from the Royal House itself. There was a sense of anticipation in the air, a belief that Tonga is on the brink of making a significant public statement to solidify its covenantal relationship with Israel. This will not just be symbolic; it will speak prophetically to the world of the Pacific's unique voice and calling.
Fiji: Strengthening Political and Cultural Ties
Fiji offered further encouragement. It has already made diplomatic history by opening its embassy in Jerusalem and its on going support in the UN, a bold and courageous step that demonstrates the nation’s deep respect for Israel. The Prime Minister Sitiveni Ligamamada Rabuka and President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere affirmed what we sensed throughout the island: Fiji sees itself as a Christian nation and sees its relationship with Israel as both spiritual and strategic.
Our engagements with tribal leaders added a grassroots layer to this support. Their acknowledgment of Israel wasn’t simply political, it was deeply cultural and spiritual. This unity between tribal, governmental, and national identity presents a model for how traditional values and modern statecraft can align around a shared biblical worldview.
Hawaii: A Patriotic Voice of Honor
Our final stop brought us to Hawaii, where we encountered a different but equally powerful expression of solidarity. Indigenous leaders here expressed their unwavering support for the nation of Israel and its people. Their patriotism for their own Hawaiian flag was mirrored in their deep respect for the sovereignty of Israel.
It was striking to hear these leaders speak with clarity and conviction. They emphasised that the Palestinian flag would not be allowed to fly on their land, not out of hostility, but out of a clear sense of identity and principle. In a land where native traditions and American governance meet, there is a vibrant echo of righteousness that links Hawaii's people with the spiritual journey of Israel.
A Pacific Voice for Israel
What we are witnessing is not just regional support, it is a prophetic alignment. The nations of the Pacific are small in population but vast in spiritual significance. These islands are rising with a voice that echoes ancient promises and modern-day purpose.
From royal houses to tribal leaders, from state embassies to spiritual covenants, the Pacific is positioning itself as a region of blessing, boldness, and biblical alignment.
As we continue to engage and support these leaders, we hold fast to the promise found in Genesis 12:3:
“I will bless those who bless you...”
May the Pacific continue to rise, not just with economic and political influence but with spiritual clarity and moral courage. The tide is turning, and the islands are speaking.
